What to expect
Black-hole spins are one of the clearest clues to how binary black holes form and evolve. This talk preview focuses on what gravitational-wave measurements can tell us about compact-object populations, and how Bayesian inference helps separate real astrophysical structure from selection effects and measurement uncertainty.

About Sylvia Biscoveanu
Sylvia Biscoveanu is an Assistant Professor of Physics at Princeton University and a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration. Her research uses gravitational-wave data and Bayesian inference to study compact-object mergers, electromagnetic counterparts and stochastic gravitational-wave backgrounds.
